The word blog is derived from web log.  Originally, blogs were created as online diaries.  Presently, blogs have evolved from personal accounts to various topics of commentary.  Blogs now encompass almost all aspects that you might think of in relation to the internet.  On eForeverYoung, blogs that members might write can be personal and shared with only their neighbors, or they might want to share their thoughts and ideas with the rest of the eForeverYoung community with topics such as wellness, hobbies, or information about their latest vacation.  Blogs are enjoyable to both the authors and the readers.  Give it a try and find out for yourself if this is something that you might enjoy.

One lasting contribution you as an individual can make to the many others on the eForeverYoung network is sharing your thoughts.  Blogs don’t have to be personal or professional; they can consist of whatever you would like to write about.  You may write about anything, but if you are writing a public blog, eForeverYoung encourages you to write about aspects pertaining to the site’s content.  For instance, public blogs should have topics about wellness, interests, or general lifestyle.  This will allow for consistency on the site and the ability for users to find enjoyable topics. 

Sharing blogs will not only help others, but blogs can also be self satisfying to the author.  eForeverYoung is a site committed to wellness and we encourage the members of the site to share various ideas or experiences that might help others continue to live an active and youthful lifestyle.

Personal blogs might just have a purpose of sharing current information with your neighbors.  For instance, you might share a story about a recent vacation; or, you found an interesting hobby and wanted to share it with friends.  Blogs are a great way to share information with your friends.

If you truly enjoy sharing your thoughts and ideas with the members of eForeverYoung, inquire about contributing articles to the site.  This will allow you to share your views with incentives from eForeverYoung.  You can promote yourself or your business though contributing articles to the site.

Blogs can be created through your blog page under your “Our Network” pages.  There is a link to create a blog.  Creating a blog consists of a few different steps.  First, your blog will need a title, and second, it will need a category.  Lastly, you are able to choose the privacy settings for your blog.  This allows you to either share the blog with the entire site user base (public) or only share your blog with neighbors that are connected to you (private).  Further information about creating a blog is included in the Site Guide (instructions.)

If the privacy setting is public, no two blogs are able to have the same name.  Under the neighbor / private setting, blogs are allowed to have the same title name.  Multiple private blogs may have the same name.

A blog is generally created to encompass a broader category.  Topics consist of the different entries that are classified as sub-categories related to the main category of the blog.  These topics are the portions of the blog where users actually write the details of their blog.

If you feel that a blog is inappropriate or distasteful, you are welcome to report the blog to the eForeverYoung staff.  Staff members, upon receiving a violation report, will review whether the blog is inappropriate in regards to the site’s content.  The staff will then decide what action take if the blog is in violation of the sites terms of use.  The blog may be deleted, forced to go private, or in extraordinary cases, the member that posted the blog will be warned about the violation from the staff members and additional action may be taken.  For additional information regarding reports of violations, refer to the “reporting site violations” in the Site Help pages.

Unfortunately, eForeverYoung currently does not provide this feature on the site.  Your privacy settings are currently only public (everyone will be able to view the blog,) or private (only your neighbors will be able to view the blog).

eForeverYoung automatically informs a member’s neighbors that they has posted a new blog or topic allowing everyone to connect directly to the new blog.  If the blog is public, eForeverYoung encourages you to read the new topic, rank it, and even voice your own opinion to the blog’s writer through a comment.  If you want to make sure that an individual is aware of your posted blog, write them a message.

eForeverYoung allows blog creators to maintain control over their content.  Members are allowed to manage their own blogs under their “My Blogs” pages in the “Our Network” portion of the site.  This allows creators of blogs to delete them, make them private, or change the topics, etc.

If users find blogs interesting, helpful, or insightful, they are able to rate that blog on a one to five scale (five being the best).  You must be a member of eForeverYoung to rank the different blogs and topics.

Blogs that have higher rankings are easier to find through the public blog pages.  This allows users to find high quality blogs that have relevant information.  By rating a blog, you are helping others find aspects of the eForeverYoung network they may have overlooked.  Basically, you are helping others maintain the creed of Experiencing Life!

If your blog privacy has been set to public, then it will be posted in an area of the site that is accessible to non-members.  If this is a concern to you, eForeverYoung suggests making the blog private.
